The Job Design

· Job Simplification
Breaking the job into relatively easier sub-parts with the intention to enhance the individual’s productivity through minimizing the physical and mental efforts required to perform a complex job. The company saves its training cost, as a very low level of skills is required to perform the simplified jobs. Also, the job speed increases, as the individual is required to perform a small element of the previously large and complicated job. (S, S. 2016)
· Job rotation
The idea of business additionally assumes a significant part in choosing whether Job rotation would be helpful to the association or not. Generally, the management trainees who are a fresher in the business world are shifted to specific job positions to make them recognize the functions of business more precisely. The reason of a job rotation is to minimize the monotony of work and letting an employee to acquire multi skills required for performing different tasks in the organization. (S, S. 2016)
· Job Enrichment
Firmly identified with work growth is work advancement. Occupation enhancement is an immediate outgrowth of Herzberg's two-factor hypothesis of inspiration. It alludes to the vertical broadening of an employment by including duty and open door for self-improvement. (Smriti Chand, n.d)
Job enrichment is the opportunity given to the employees to explore their skills when some challenging task is assigned to them. This concept is in contrast to the job enlargement which considers the horizontal restructuring, where more and more duties get added, and the challenge remains the same. (S, S. 2016)
· Job Enlargement
Job enlargement comprises of making an employment bigger in scope by consolidating extra undertaking exercises into each occupation through extension. (Smriti Chand, n.d)
It means increasing the scope of responsibilities and duties of an person through adding the related activities to his current job profile and generally without any change in authority and level in the hierarchy in the organization. (S, S. 2016)
Conclusion
Job design is the method of creating a job that allows the company to achieve its goals while motivating and rewarding the employee. Jobs are changing faster than ever and new jobs are invented each and every day. This means that a well-designed job leads to higher productiveness and quality of work, while also leading to greater job satisfaction, lower absence, and lower employee turnover intentions.
